Rape, Sexual Assault, Stalking and Domestic Violence
We are committed to providing quality services to students who experience sexual assault, rape, intimate partner violence, sexual harassment, or stalking. Services can be obtained anonymously, are confidential and available to survivors, their families, significant others, and friends. We strive to ensure that our services are sensitive to issues of race, gender, culture, religion, individual capabilities, and sexual orientation. Services include:
- Helping survivors identify existing needs, whether medical, legal, counseling, academic, or other
- Providing referrals to appropriate campus and community services
- Sponsors Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Awareness Months in April and October.
- Explaining medical and legal options available to the survivor
- Court accompaniment
- Hospital accompaniment
- Consulting with students who have concerns about their intimate partner, dating, or family relationships
Outreach efforts include:
- Training for student groups, faculty, staff, and student leaders
- Campus events during Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Awareness Months in April and October
- Classroom lectures and presentations to student groups
- Events to educate the campus community about building healthy relationships
- A student peer education group dedicated to raising awareness on campus
