Side By Side Richmond (formerly known as ROSMY): Side By Side is an LGBTQIA+ youth group dedicated to creating supportive communities where Virginia’s LGBTQIA+ youth can define themselves, belong, and flourish. Youth services are for ages 14-20, a perfect fit for students just beginning their undergraduate career. Side By Side has a general LGBT group on Tuesday evenings and Trans Youth group Thursday evenings, in addition to special programming throughout the year.
Virginia Anti-Violence Project: VAVP works to address and prevent violence, with a specific focus on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer communities across Virginia. They provide advocacy for LGBTQ survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence as well as hate-motivated bias or violence.
Trans, Genderqueer, and Gender-Nonconforming Healthcare Resources
Planned Parenthood of Richmond now has a trans health clinic and can prescribe hormone replacement therapy through primary care. You can call them at (804) 355-4358.
Health Brigade (formerly known as Fan Free Clinic) also offers a variety of trans healthcare services, including hormone replacement therapy as well as physicals or checkups with providers who are trained to work with transgender clients. You can call their coordinator at (804) 358-6343, ext. 143.
